Weekend Recap

It's Halloween weekend!! My main costume is Captain America (In case you didn't know who the muscular looking man was in the picture) I have the shield and everything.
Anyways, Friday was senior day, pops got a cigar from coach (he doesn't smoke) but it was a kind gesture regardless. Then I gave mom some flowers. During the announcement, they said that I was part of Bentley's record amount of shutout minutes, which I didn't know and cool stuff indeed. My awesome cousin Rob was on hand for the weekend, very happy he was able to make it up.
Last night we went into Boston and had drinks and dinner with our good family friend, Morgan. Definitely nice to get off campus and have a solid meal. Legal seafood was unbelievable, but thank god I went out with people who have real jobs and can pay for that sort of place!

Young the Giant - Cough Syrup
Just an awesome song. Definitely an different music video, but a song worth listening to, and then listening to again. Cough Syrup is off of the self titled album, Young the Giant.
They will be playing locally at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence on Nov. 30.
By the way, I'm learning my way around this whole blogger setup. I can now add links to other things, and they will always be highlighted in red for your convenience ladies and gentlemen.
Pumpkin Beer
The Punkin Ale is a hazy dark pumpkin color with a foamy tan head. And prepare to be floored – it smells like pumpkin and spices. This has a squash flavor in the introduction, but it’s closer to a pumpkin than most of the others. The cinnamon and ginger spices compliment it nicely. It definitely is more akin to a brown ale with pumpkin spice highlights than a pumpkin ale, which I rather enjoy.
It delivers a little alcohol warmth, but nothing overbearing. The finish seems to leave remnants of the squash flavor to linger with a earthy/grassy hop flavor which strikes me as a little abrasive relative to the introductory flavors, but it’s not a game changer.
Overall, this is about as close to what I believe a pumpkin ale SHOULD taste like. It’s not something that I would want to drink year ‘round, but it’s festive and chock full of holiday fun. And at 7% alcohol it is guaranteed to make the holidays at least 7% more tolerable.

Tron Motorcycle
In keeping with all things "Cool Stuff" is the Tron Motorcycle. I know its a little after the fact considering Tron Legacy has come and gone, but its still cool nonetheless. The bike was created by Dream Machines, a Florida bike shop and costs $55,000... Unfortunately there is only a limited supply of less than 10 of these bikes, and they do not come with the chick riding the bike either

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
So I will whole heartedly confess that I spent hours upon hours playing both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (both previous Zelda games.. but definitely more time with Ocarina, that game was away better)
Supposedly it has already received unbelievable reviews, which is nice, because wii hasn't had a solid game in a while from what I can recall. And for those of you who aren't Zelda fanatics, Zelda is the blonde chick, the elf looking guy, his name is Link.. I was actually Link one year as a little kid, had a slingshot and everything. I'm very excited for this to be coming out.. November 20, 2011. Since there's a wii at home, I know what I'm doing over winter break..
THOR 2
Being a bit of a comic book geek, it was particularly exciting to hear that there will be a Thor 2...
"Marvel Studios announced today that Patty Jenkins will direct "Thor 2," which will be released in theaters on Friday, November 15, 2013. Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman will return to star in the film along with Tom Hiddleston. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige will produce the sequel to this summer’s blockbuster "Thor," which has grossed over $448 million worldwide to date.
Patty Jenkins previously directed "Monster" starring Charlize Theron, who won an Academy Award for her performance in the film. Jenkins, who received an Emmy nomination for directing the pilot of AMC’s acclaimed series "The Killing," has also directed episodes of "Entourage" and "Arrested Development." Most recently, she directed “Pearl,” one of the five short films that comprise Lifetime’s original movie "Five."
In addition to "Thor 2," Marvel Studios is currently scheduled to release "Marvel's The Avengers" on May 4, 2012, and "Iron Man 3" which is slated for release on May 3, 2013."

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” -Benjamin Franklin
Beer brewing dates to almost 6000 BC. However, it was the Sumerians around 2000 BC who really loved the stuff. Their plaques and carvings often center on people or gods drinking from large jars of beer. A hymn to one of their most important goddesses, Ninkasi, is actually a very detailed explanation of how to make beer; this was helpful in a society that was almost entirely illiterate. Want to make some beer but can’t read the recipe? Just start reciting the hymn and you’re set. Beer was so important that the average Sumerian couldn’t be bothered to stop drinking it for anything apparently, as there is a carving of a woman drinking out of a beer jug in the middle of sexual intercourse. That’s some dedication to your booze.

Homemade Rocket

Saw this on TheChive, I always wanted to be an astronaut as a kid, I guess building your own rocket is a close second.
I wonder if you need to get permission from someone to send a rocket into space? I mean you can't just go down to your town hall and ask for an outer space permit, but maybe you have to ask NASA or the airforce? Either way its not a request that probably gets made often
